Corinthic Tile Pieces
|
|
Rare
pieces of tile from the R.M.S. Corinthic.
Very few of these were found and most were
quickly purchased for use in museums or
private ownership. Few pieces have made a
reappearance on the market and given their
extreme rarity, it is unlikely they
will.
We
offer a few here as they are part of an
incomplete pattern. We have a few of the
brown "bow tie" pieces, the salmon colored
"chop" pieces, and the brown squares.

Item: Olympic
Wood
|
|
A piece of wood from a structural
piece of pine belonging to the First Class
Cabin C-86 of the White Star Liner R.M.S.
Olympic. It was a part of an Architrave
the White Star Line Memorial Foundation
has in its collection and was purchased at
auction in England in July 2000. The
structural piece was removed to allow for
a good presentation of the
architrave.
The piece was cut into sections as
shown which measure 2 cm x 2.25 cm x 0.25
cm (3/4" x 7/8" x 1/8") for ease of
portability. each piece can be mounted as
desired or turned into a lovely, but
small, piece of furniture. Each comes with
a certificate of authenticity showing the
accompanying piece and a description.
There is a screw, or nail, hole through
some of the pieces which are included at
no extra charge. If we were to offer the
hole separately on one of the online
auction sites, such as ebay, the hole
alone could bring several dollars or more
as there is always a lot of nothing
selling on them!
WAIT, THERE'S MORE!! As if the hole
wasn't enough to compel one to buy, as an
extra-extra bonus, we will include an
artists rendering of a White Star Line
matchbox which was hand assembled. It was
made here in Europe so think of it as the
Luxury Sports Car of matchboxes, and it
can be yours at no charge! Actually, we
don't have any of the little zip baggies
to put the wood in so we opted to use
these boxes. No matches are included as we
cannot post combustibles, and if the box
were filled with matches, where would we
put the wood!?
We will package everything up
dandily so that everything (including the
hole) arrives at your door ready to be
admired.

Rare
certainly describes this leaf and berry

Metal and Rusticle Bits
|
|
Own a
genuine piece of Titanic's Hull! Watches
made with far less metal that is contained
in this fragment, and which could be
recovered from the Rusticles bits in the
container have sold for tens of thousands
of dollars. Here is a smart opportunity to
get more for less.
These
pieces were obtained when the "Big Piece"
of the Titanic's hull was recovered in
August 1998. Fragments fell from the
section as it was being secured on the
deck of the "Abeille." As the fragments
were to be washed overboard upon hosing
down the deck, they were allowed to be
collected by observers. The hull fragment
measures 1.7 cm x 1 cm x 0.3 cm (5/8" x
3/8" x 1/8").
